<DesertFox> you there?
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> your message was prob for Mal, so I
contacted him
<DesertFox> and I believe he contacted Jerle
<crector> Isent it to you since you were online and I
msg'd Mal as well
<DesertFox> k
<crector> My comp conked out before U got your reply
<crector> before I got your reply
<DesertFox> So I noticed
<DesertFox> What do you purpose?
<crector> The idea of salvaging what was the HF
in-game alliances as a force in the game and as SK
allies
<crector> I've been in online gaming for years and SK
is one of the best allies that a clan that I was in
ever had
<DesertFox> It is a good alliance
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> Would we drop down to just one HF? Or
none?
<crector> Did you see anything wrong in my kicking
Hyperion out?
<crector> Depends on what the members want.
<DesertFox> No, he was insulting everything any of us
said
<DesertFox> mainly about or "military" capibilities
<crector> I refused a direct order from the #3 man in
all of HF to let Hyperion back in
<DesertFox> He should, in my opinion, still be
considered a threat to operational security
<DesertFox> we know we have a leak, we just don't know
who / whom
<crector> Hyperion is still holding an Official
Position in HF even though he's supposed to have been
placed on probation. what a fraud.
<DesertFox> And given his past experience, especially
the last few days, he should not be trusted
<crector> He's a big buddy of the leadership.
connections count in HF, just like in High School.
<DesertFox> You still have allies with SK, no matter
how things turn out
<crector> great.
<crector> This whole thing makes no sense at all
<DesertFox> No, especially considering some of the
things he said, and did
<crector> Hyperion & Jewel got caught for brazen
cheating and I'm the bad guy.
<DesertFox> Yes, well, like you said, connections
count. One reason I have yet to join HF, even though
the opportunity did present itself
<DesertFox> I happen to be an avid diablo 2 player
<DesertFox> with some quite nice characters
<crector> HF used to be strong in D2.
<DesertFox> yeah
<DesertFox> But, as is known with great civilizations,
they don't fall from external forces, but from
internal strife
<crector> From what I gather, outside of BBG's like
TDZK and a store bought game called BattleField 1942,
HF as a gaming clan is mostly spent.
<DesertFox> The Phoenix alliance bugs me. Talon took
one SK planet in the first week of play, and killed a
good 6 players today, busting a raid
<DesertFox> BF 1942 is fun, but crappy coding
<crector> About 3 years ago, HF had over 60 active
players in SC/BW, now hardly any HFers in that game.
<DesertFox> How long have you been a member of HF?
<crector> Since October, 2000
<crector> 30+ months
<DesertFox> Certainly a long time
<crector> yes and in the end, it counted for nothing
<crector> I didn't get into clan politics like the way
that Hyperion and Jewel did and this is the end
result.
<DesertFox> It could be said that, in the end, most
games will count for nothing. Except maybe the fun
along the way
<DesertFox> Sad, but too true sometimes
<crector> yes. I do think that TDZK offers great
possibliities though
<DesertFox> I myself am beginning a resurgance of old
games. Original Nintendo, Atari, old MS-DOS games,
the like. They are quite enjoyable
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> and, don't require the "bleeding edge"
graphics that so many new titles do
<crector> eye candy
<DesertFox> although Bioware just released the beta
for the Neverwinter Nights Linux Client
<DesertFox> I will prob try that out
<DesertFox> TDZK has good admin, and that counts for
something
<DesertFox> I and about 4 others came from a group
known as The Republic playing a game called Archspace,
which had horrible admin, and cheating was rampant.
That is where the R.D.S. comes from in my ship name -
Republican Doom Star, all fleets had that designation
back in the day
<DesertFox> most of them ended up in the TD groups
<crector> You were aware that Hotaru & Jerle are HF
members, were you not?
<DesertFox> I know that
<DesertFox> I contact Jerle quite frequently for in
game questions
<DesertFox> And Jerle, i believe, will fight this
decision against you. He holds some sway because of
TDZK and all.
<crector> I recruited them myself.
<DesertFox> Not bad
<DesertFox> :)
<crector> I'll tell him not too. Its a done deal. I
refused a direct order and in their eyes showed
blatant disrespect for authority.
<DesertFox> I lost 25 mill exp today, that sux
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> 5 levels, from 37 to 35
<crector> 2 levels you mean
<DesertFox> sry, 32
<DesertFox> 37 to 32
<crector> ok
<DesertFox> and i am not even in the top 100 anymore.
Quite a setback. However, I do have a lvl 200
resourcer now
<DesertFox> :)
<DesertFox> so what are your alliance plans then?
<DesertFox> you finished with HF for now?
<crector> First, see just what alliance is left when
the smoke clears.
<crector> I do think that if we try hard enough, we
could mine in the DR planet and neutralize SR as a
force.
<crector> I mean DR the 2nd time
<DesertFox> right
<DesertFox> we need higher level guys
<crector> either that or make peace with them.
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> a lvl 6 wraith in a lvl 150 battleship is
not the best combo
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> peace is unlikely at this point
<crector> next game, I'll be a Zallun
<DesertFox> i enjoy wraith myself
<DesertFox> but zallun is good as well
<DesertFox> sniv, also, is good for exp, as madox
shows
<crector> yes
<DesertFox> i would rather have an alliance with IR
than with DR
<DesertFox> with the good players from SK and HF
allied with IR, we could make a very powerful combo,
and actually rule Elanna
<crector> yes, but IR rejected a proffered NAP from
HF2
<DesertFox> true, but I bet it would be easier to get
peace with them than with DR
<DesertFox> especially considering we have never
raided the IR planet
<DesertFox> and the IR planet is MUCH more powerful
than the DR planet
<crector> is more powerful than the SK planets?
<DesertFox> more than the one in 20, i haven't checked
with the elanna planet yet, but probably
<DesertFox> SK had to take both planets by force, IR
started out with theirs
<crector> yes....IR had a larger core group than SK to
start the game with
<crector> What happened to Mal after the #tdzk
meeting?
<DesertFox> I believe he is resinstalling linux, but I
am not sure
<crector> do you know him personally>?
<DesertFox> yeah
<crector> Are you 2 both BYU students?
<DesertFox> correct
<crector> decent. A computer games club?
<DesertFox> Kinda, both CS students
<crector> Back in the old Space Merchant days, HF had
a number of players from a comp games club at Central
Michigan University
<DesertFox> met working on labs last semester
<crector> talking to Jerle now
<DesertFox> k
<DesertFox> i should prob. take off
<DesertFox> later
